Chicken Street Tacos {easy to make} - Spend With Pennies
Ingredients
- Meat (ingredients below meats are for both, others are just for specific meat)
- 1 pound flank steak or skirt steak
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cilantro chopped
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 3 cloves garlic, mined
- 1 pound chicken
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 tablespoons lime juice

- 5 tilapia filets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons of salt
Tacos
- Cotija cheese (technically optional but really good)
- 6-8 small flour or corn tortillas
Optional Toppings
- Tomatoes, chopped
- Red onion, chopped
- Avocado, diced
- Cilantro, chopped
Instructions
Pick meat and marinade
- Pick if using steak or chicken (or both! But double everything else)
- For steak: Cut the flank steak into one-inch pieces. In a medium-sized bowl add the soy sauce, Worcestershire, juice from one lime, garlic, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, and salt and pepper. Add the steak and let marinate in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
- For chicken: Combine chicken, cumin, oregano, lime juice, orange juice, garlic, and olive oil in a bowl. Marinate at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours.
Prepare toppings
- Grill chicken over medium heat until no pink remains, about 4 minutes per side.
Final grill and assembly
Take two tortillas and put cojo cheese between them
