Ingredients
- 2 cups Carolina Gold rice
- 1/2 cup oil, plus more for finishing
- 2 to 3 teaspoons of granulated garlic
- 2 to 3 teaspoons sage
- 1 quart tomato sauce
- 3 cups water
- Salt
- Freshly ground pepper
Instructions
- Cook rice according to package directions
- In a medium saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the granulated garlic and sage.
- Stir im tomato sauce and water and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed. Cook for 30 minutes more.
- Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F.
- Mix the rice and sauce in a pan or Dutch oven, then bake for 30 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork and add a splash of oil at the end, if desired.
